Nestled between the Gulf of Naples to the northwest and the Gulf of Salerno to the south, the chain of the Lattari Mounts extends for 34 kilometers as a continuation of Picentini Mounts and forms, extending into the sea, the Sorrentine Peninsula.
A hole in the rock is framing the breathtaking panorama, extending from the other mounts of the Lattari chain to the coast with its high steep walls and the villages overlooking the sea.
Ascending from Vico Equense or from Castellammare di Stabia (even with the cable car) you can reach Monte Faito (1131 meters), which takes its name from the dense beech woods, which cover its sides with ancient trees of some centuries ago.
