A hole in the rock is framing the breathtaking panorama, extending from the other mounts of the Lattari chain to the coast with its high steep walls and the villages overlooking the sea.
From that hole on its northern summit, mount Pertuso takes one of its names, also known as mount Finestra, on the eastern age of Monti Lattari, marking the border between Tramonti and Cava de’ Tirreni. There are two summits: the northern one, 1138 meters high, with the panoramic hole and the southern one, which is the highest and reaches 1145 meters. This overhang is eloquently called Malopasso due to its characteristics and for the difficulty of the route. Usually, excursions are directed to the north peak, following a beautiful but challenging route. The high path of the Lattari mounts crosses the Chiunzi passage, which connects Amalfi area to nocerino-sarnese countryide.
