DISCOVER THE CAMPANIA REGION
It is the oldest DOC in Italy. It was 1966 when the island of Ischia obtained the important recognition, to seal the multi-millennial history of its viticulture.
For wine, you are spoiled for choice. Going to the cellars is in fact a fascinating experience, in the heart of the Campi Flegrei DOC, which can be summed up in the essential story of two vines, Falanghina and Piedirosso, grown in truly special landscape contexts.
The grapes were the first to be brought by the Greek colonists from Thessaly, Vesuvius added the fertility of the soil and the result is the great wines of these lands.
Along with lemons, vineyards are also widespread on the terraces.
Thousands of hectares of vineyards from Taburno to the Telesina valley, from the slopes of the Matese to the Caudina valley.
The “alberatura aversana” (Aversana tree line) develops entirely in height.
Rest is only apparent. The earth, which has been generous again this year, is preparing to welcome the seeds of spring herbs among the rows of vines already almost bare.
The Taurasi DOCG, one of the main Campania red wines, takes the name of the homonym city in the upper Calore valley, an important centre of Samnium first, and then a Roman one.
