The island of the global holiday
the beautiful, wonderful, fascinating, proteiform, and simple island of the global holiday, with a big heart, is among the most visited locations in the world..
Why? Because relax is made of impulses coinciding with primordial elements, and they are linked with the testimonies that men have left over the centuries: from dry walls, built stone by stone, with blocks of yellow and green tuff, delimiting the fields, to Tyrrhenian and arabesque architecture of the hamlets. Ischia is the biggest and most populated island of the Gulf of Naples. For thousands of years, it has been having a considerable position on the shipping routes in the central Mediterranean basin and, more particularly, the Greeks from Eubea decided to settle for the first time during the colonisation of the West, in the 8th century BC. Ischia is divided into six boroughs: Ischia, Casamicciola Terme, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Serrara Fontana, Barano. Each borough, following one another geographically in the insular tour, is identified as a thermal station of wellness and holiday, in order to express the historic particularities of the territory, linked to the hospitality in the sign of well-being. A secular characteristic, which has evolved in the last decades with the creation – along the coast- of beautiful parks and balneo thermal gardens, real nature oasis, one of a kind, made by proactive operators. It is precisely for its fascinating Nature that Ischia (whose name’s origin has created considerable hypothesis) is mainly known, nowadays, as the Green Island.
