A stone building, harmoniously inserted in a pine forest and placed on a rock spur overlooking the splendid cove with the Ficocella beach.

It is one of the visits not to be missed, being in Palinuro, certainly for the panorama that can be enjoyed from that place, but above all because in that structure, specially built in the sixties of the last century, there is the small Antiquarium which houses the precious archaeological remains of the area. Large windows allow you to admire the sea even from inside.

It was from 1948 that the excavation of the ancient necropolis of Palinuro began. Most of the finds exhibited in the large hall of the Antiquarium come from there. They range from obsidian objects from six thousand years ago to examples of Ionian ceramics, from valuable Attic ceramic vases with black figures to ceramic objects with geometric decoration of local production, typical of the Vallo di Diano. No less important are the refined objects of the Hellenistic age found, still well preserved, in wrecks present in the sea of Palinuro.

The museum can be visited in summer and winter. Outside there is a small theatre, which hosts cultural events during the summer.
