The most famous and appreciated sweet Caprese in the world has recently celebrated its century.
Surprising, greedy result of an error in the preparation of a dark chocolate cake and ground almonds from which, due to a last-minute distraction, the white flour that should have been part of the mixture was excluded. Together with yeast, another prominent absence among the ingredients mixed by the chef Carmine di Fiore, the first to churn out the involuntary novelty with a soft chocolate heart. Since then, that cake has continued to be appreciated in the original version as well as in the variations that have been added to it, starting with the very fragrant lemon Caprese.
