The Gelbison, 1707 meters high, is the highest mounts of Campania, in the centre of Cilento and Valle del Diano National Park. Its characteristic cone falls within the territories of different municipalities, but the summit falls entirely within Novi Velia one and overlooks the archaeological site of Velia from the side gently sloping towards the sea.
The Gelbison is a mount covered in green. Chestnuts, firs, alders and shrubs wrap it up to the top, on which the Marian sanctuary stands, destination of pilgrimage destination since the 14th century.
